Debilitating. Veiling. Agitating. Distracting. Hopeless. Chronic pain has many accompanying adjectives, none of which are positive. More than anything though, being in consistent pain acts as a veil. We feel isolated, held back, distracted, and a slave to our own pain. I don’t know about you, but I am not okay with that. Are you!?

Your chronic pain healing is dependent on a well functioning nervous system. If your nervous system is a) perceiving too much threat b) receiving poor sensory input c) overloaded with emotional, psychological impairments on top of poor sensory input, then you are going to experience chronic pain or one of its nasty cousins like anxiety, depression, ulcers, migraines, etc. You get the idea: dysfunctional nervous system = PAIN.
Unless you have an extremely trained eye, it’s nearly impossible to know how your nervous system is flawed but that doesn’t mean you can’t begin training the nervous system to boost your functionality. Poor nervous system function = Pain
Indicators of a poor functioning nervous system are: chronic pain, excess tension in movement, inflexibility, anxiety, foggy memory, foggy thinking, constant overwhelm, migraines/headaches, nausea
Nervous system training = No pain
It’s that simple, but it’s not easy. You have spent years in specific patterns that have brought you to this painful place and it will take conscious effort and practice to recover. The bright side of that is while recovering, you’re going to feel better, and better and better and better each time you train!
